Who can honestly say they haven’t dreamt of having of a helium-balloon suspended bridge on a lake in their back garden? Not me! And I can tell you Oliver Grossetete’s ‘Pont de Singe’ bridge goes beyond my wildest imaginations. The French artist has transformed Tatton Park ( a historic estate in North-West England and probably a now major tourist attraction) into a fairytale scene by using three giant helium balloons to float a rope bridge over water. Sadly the ends of the bridge trail into the water so unless you wade out through the mass of pond weed and lily pads (definitely worth it!) you can’t actually walk across it. I, for one, am looking forward to Grossetete’s next experiment, I’m thinking along the lines of ‘Up‘…anyone?
