One to watch: Inga Birgisdóttir

Inga Birgisdottir is best known for her contribution to Sigur Ros’s Valtari Experiment (see previous blog post), but the Icelandic artist/film-maker seems to have a lot more up her sleeve.

Inga, who is also Jonsi’s (member of Sigur Ros) sister, graduated from the icelandic academy of art in 2006 and much of her work involves transforming illustrations or paintings into moving art. The results of these short ‘films’ are beautifully unique and interesting, particularly the ones that involve light. Imagine diving into your favourite fairy tale with a slightly more grown-up, gothic edge and you’ll begin to get a sense of what i’m talking about or better yet hit the link below to experience it first hand:

To watch more of Inga’s videos check out her vimeo account: http://vimeo.com/user5151496/videos… her showcase documentary ‘Grandma Lo-Fi’ is definitely going on my watchlist.
